MISSION:
“Gima-Ha UK aims for conscientious and careful instruction for everyone, young and old, women and men, and people from all walks of life and creeds, through carefully selected the leadership “
We aim to disseminate the original and undiluted teachings of Shihan Makoto Gima, keeping true to his aims for karatedo and the style that he formally created alongside Shotokan-Ryu.
We aim to pass on true Gima-Ha Shotokan-Ryu karatedo that encompasses all physical, intellectual and moral educational aspects; encompassing Keiko Karate, Kyogi Karate, Goshin-Do, Kobudo and Budo Karate for the benefit of all participants.
VISION:
Through our structured and disciplined shugyō (修行) to individually as well as collectively, become stronger karate-ka in order to hone our skills and pass on our learnings to future generations. We seek to refine our characters while acquiring a deeper understanding of our art.
VALUES:
To align ourselves with Shihan Gichin Funakoshi’s 5 precepts known as the ‘Dojo-Kun’. We strive everyday to become not only better karateka, but better and more rounded people, bringing benefit to the global community.
